To create a bootable CD:
You can use the option "Save CD image to disk" to create a bootable CD, to diagnose your system. This is useful if you have a newer system that does not have a floppy drive. Or is not your BIOS to boot from floppy disk setup, but is Setup to boot from a CD-ROM. By default, most new computers are setup to boot from a CD-ROM.
From the window "Windows memory diagnostic Setup" the option "Save CD image to disk". In this case a "Save CD image" window opens. Save the file to your desktop. Once you have done this the program will tell you "File saved successfully". You should now have a "windiag.iso" file on your desktop.
An ISO file, also known as an "image" file used to burn an exact copy of a file or program within certain CD burning software. Burn a program that works very much for these file types is "Nero Burning Rom". If you are this program you are good to go. Otherwise, you can download the program from the following location:
http://www.Nero.com /.
If you want to buy not this software, you can search the "free" trial version on their website, where you use the basic functionality that burn ISO file required software. Once you downloaded Nero and installed you open your "windiag.iso" file in Nero, so that you can burn the diagnostic tool on CD.
You must open the file in Nero a way to make to ensure that burning the ISO file correctly. To this, a menu with options will bring the right mouse button on the file and it up. Want to select the option "Open with" from the menu. After you have selected this "Open with" dialog box opens displaying all programs that are currently installed on your system
If you should have installed correctly you Nero able to scroll through the list and select Nero, and then click "OK". If you want to know one leave the option "use always this program, to open these files" check [or add a check box, this is not] and in the future your computer always ISO image files in Nero opened, so that you can burn it.
Once you have selected OK Nero will automatically open and take the "Image recording - write a premastered image" window. Let the options that are set to default values, and then click the button "continue" in the lower right corner.
At this point, should start "Burning process" Nero, show of how much time on the program for burning the CD is left you a percentage bar. Because there is such a small file, the writing process to take approximately 1 minute and then it will pop up with a window that says
"Burn you process to 40 x (6,000 KB/s) completed successfully"
Or something similar, you are mainly review to ensure that it says that it completed successfully. On the success window, click ok, and click then the button "continue" in the lower right corner once again your diagnosis disc stop.
Should at this point the program disk from the system automatically eject to can close Nero to where we are ready to use it. The CD set I would recommend again in the system and then control through Windows Explorer, make sure that you find you data on the CD as another method to check whether the disc has been successfully burned down.
When you click the CD-ROM drive in your system, you should show you, that it a folder on the CD called "I386?." If you put this on the CD to see, your project has successfully burned and you now even so the computer it and start from the CD system reboot with the CD-ROM in the drive will detect.
[Note: on some systems you need to during the boot process to see, and you get a message that says "press any key to boot from CD".] [If you see this come appears, press any key, and then should the diagnostic startup.]
